Boogie Down Rides is a celebration of bicycling in the Bronx. The celebration takes place throughout the year and includes a series of educational events, community visioning sessions and group rides.
By creating a celebration of active transportation, Boogie Down Rides increases awareness of cycling as a mode of transportation and recreation, promote safe cycling and bridge existing efforts to expand cycling in the Bronx.
This project is organized by the meta local collaborative, an initiative by artists Elizabeth Hamby and Hatuey Ramos-Fermín. This project started as a conjunction of the exhibition This Side of Paradise, presented by No Longer Empty.
